Happy July!!!!!! I am so SO happy to be writing this as I am sitting outside, on my rooftop, overlooking my (modest) garden. It is crazy that when you live in a cold country every second of summer feels precious. I love the warmth of summer, the endless activities/events, and most importantly the abundance of incredible produce.

I am always looking around at the produce market for whatever fruits and vegetables are local, plump, ripe, and delicious that week - this weeks finds: STRAWBERRIES. Ontario. Strawberries. hit. the. shelves. Sure, strawberries are on the shelves year round from Florida or Mexico but I don’t dare buy thooooose strawberries. I am a local-strawberry-only-girl, and if you are like me then you have to get your entire year supply of strawberries into your body in approximately two months.

Do you remember strawberry milk? Anyone? I loved it and I felt like I wanted to recreate a dessert that brings back the nostalgic flavours of dipping a cookie into strawberry milk BUT using real ingredients.

This strawberry milk n sugar cookie pie recipe is a summer version of my classic milk n cookies pie recipe and I am beyond happy with the result. Strawberry milk made from real strawberries is a whole other level of delicious. I love how these flavours came together, the chunks of strawberries make it feel fresh and perfect for summer. I’ve also included a recipe for a super easy homemade sorbet - all you need is a food processor! No special tools.

The moral of the story this week is: strawberry milk is back.
